Wedding Flowers
Congratulations and Mazel Tov on your engagement! Upper Village Blooms is delighted to be a part of this special milestone and we are here to guide you through your flower choices for your event.
Interested in an Upper Village Blooms wedding? Look carefully at our website and our IG Does our style and vibe match with yours? Do you like the flowers we design?
1. Talk about Wedding Flowers
Schedule a consultation with us to reserve your date. To preserve the integrity of our events, we book only one event per weekend. Our exclusive policy means that you get our very best work. Our $200 Wedding Consultation fee reserves your date immediately, which is applied to the cost of your wedding flowers.
To realize your wedding day dreams, in our initial meeting, we concentrate on your vision. We help guide you through the process of selecting colors, flowers, and styles and we are here to answer any questions you may have. Before our meeting, we will have taken a look at your Pinterest boards. We love looking at your ideas! It gives us an excellent idea of what you want your wedding flowers to convey. (We do have to say here, however, that Pinterest shows extravagant wedding flowers. We can help translate those ultra-luxe flowers into an attainable budget.)
It is best for you, the bridal couple, to visit flower designers after you have chosen a date, a venue, and have a budget and approximate guest count. The typical couple comes to visit us 3 months after engagement, after researching costs, locations, attire, and colors. In a typical wedding, 8-10% of the entire budget goes to flowers.
2. Pick a Wedding Flowers Budget
The average budget for Upper Village Blooms' wedding flowers range from $2,000-$15,000. We have seen this price range shift and adjust since the beginning of the 2020 pandemic, and are pleased to see larger weddings are now again being planned.
3. Create your Signature Wedding
Wedding flowers are grouped into personal, ceremony, and reception. Personal flowers include the bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres for attendants and family members.
Ceremony flowers can include a chuppah or canopy, aisle or pew flowers, and flower walls. Reception flowers are for the celebration: cocktail table flowers, table centerpieces, floral chandeliers, cake flowers, or a sweetheart table. There are no rules to wedding flowers —together we can design a cohesive and extraordinary experience for your guests that reflects you as a couple!
4. Prepare for a Beautiful Wedding
Once you sign the contract, the timeline generally looks like this:
Your initial payment is due, allowing us to pre-order all of your beautiful flowers 5-6 months in advance of your wedding. A month before the event, we inventory and prep all structures. Three weeks before, your final payment is due, and we begin construction on any large pieces like a Chuppah. Finally, 1-2 weeks in advance, we receive your flowers, make sure all are gorgeous, and we begin the design stage. The day of your wedding, our team delivers and sets up at your venue. We do this quickly, efficiently, and we clean up after ourselves. And at the end of the night, once you’ve all gone home deliriously happy, we return to the site for strike-down and load out. (Most venues will charge you a hefty fee if you leave any decor behind.)
Most importantly, ask us questions! We are here to help guide you and make your wedding flower experience delightful.
Best wishes,
Catherine Arkin
